I suggest that you at least quote your name as you comment the hotel and tour operator very badly!
I visit Axum at least twice a year, since the year 2000, and my experiences are very, very good. Of course, you have to keep in mind taht you are in a remote area of Ethiopia with a lack of water, electricity and infrastructure in general.
Last but not least: my experience is that if you are nice to the people of Ethiopia, they are very nice as well.
I hope you will have better comments on your future trips!

Corrupt! According to Village Ethiopia Tours, this hotel Gave away our rescervation whne brbed at a busy festival time.
Hard to know who to beleive, but we slept in a tent - no compensation.
Avoid this hotel - and I would also say avoid the tour company Village Ethiopia, who are not accurate, competent, or I'm sorry to say entirely honest
